2. About StableStop and the Platform

2.1 Nature of the Platform

StableStop operates an online marketplace that connects Hosts who have spare stable capacity with Riders who require short-term stabling for their horses, typically in connection with equestrian competitions, events, or travel. StableStop is a technology platform only. We are not a stabling provider, livery yard operator, equine welfare authority, or party to any stabling agreement between a Host and a Rider.

2.2 StableStop is not a party to the stabling agreement

When a Booking is confirmed, a direct contract is formed between the Host and the Rider on the terms agreed between them (including these Terms and the applicable Yard Rules). StableStop is not a party to that contract, does not provide the stabling services, and is not responsible for the performance of either the Host or the Rider under that contract. StableStop's role is limited to facilitating the connection, processing payments on behalf of Hosts, and providing platform infrastructure.

2.3 No warranty as to Listings or Hosts

StableStop does not vet, inspect, accredit or warrant the suitability of any Stable, the accuracy of any Listing, or the competence, reliability or fitness of any Host or Rider. Riders are solely responsible for conducting their own due diligence before making a Booking, including assessing whether a Stable is suitable for their horse's needs, welfare, and any competition or biosecurity requirements.

2.4 Changes to the Platform

We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time. Where we make material changes to the Platform that affect existing Bookings, we will provide reasonable notice. We will not be liable to any User for any modification, suspension or discontinuation of the Platform.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

3.1 Eligibility

To use the Platform you must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under English law. By registering an account you confirm that you meet these requirements. If you are registering on behalf of a business or organisation, you warrant that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

3.2 Account creation

You must register an account to make or accept Bookings. You agree to provide truthful, accurate, current and complete information during registration and to keep that information updated. You may not register using a false identity or on behalf of someone other than yourself without their express authority.

3.3 Account security

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@stablestop.co.uk if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account. StableStop will not be liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your account where you have failed to take reasonable steps to protect your credentials.

3.4 One account per user

Each individual or business entity may hold only one active account on the Platform. You may not create a new account to circumvent a suspension, ban or restriction applied to an existing account.

3.5 Verification

StableStop may at any time request that you verify your identity, address, business status or other information provided during registration. Failure to provide satisfactory verification may result in suspension or removal of your account. We reserve the right to use third-party verification services for this purpose.

4. Hosts — Listing Your Stables

4.1 Eligibility to list

To list a Stable on the Platform you must be the owner, lessee or authorised manager of the property and must have the legal right to make it available to third parties for stabling purposes. By creating a Listing you warrant that you have obtained all necessary permissions, planning consents, licences and insurance required to accommodate visiting horses and their owners.

4.2 Accuracy of Listings

Hosts are solely responsible for the content of their Listings. All information provided must be truthful, accurate and not misleading. Your Listing must clearly state: the type and number of stables available; stable dimensions; turnout availability; bedding type; water and feed arrangements; site access details; any facilities available (ménège, wash-down area, parking for lorries and trailers); and any restrictions on horses or their owners (e.g. no stallions, no foals, vaccinations required).

4.3 Yard Rules

Hosts must publish clear Yard Rules through the Platform. These rules form part of the binding contract between the Host and any Rider who makes a Booking. Yard Rules may address arrival and departure times, feeding protocols, turnout arrangements, biosecurity requirements, supervision requirements, and any other reasonable conditions. Rules must comply with all applicable law and must not discriminate unlawfully.

4.4 Availability and calendar management

Hosts are responsible for keeping their availability calendar accurate and up to date. Accepting a Booking Request creates a binding commitment to provide the Stable as listed. Repeatedly cancelling confirmed Bookings without good reason may result in suspension of the Host's account.

4.5 Host's duty of care

A Host owes a duty of care to visiting horses and their owners. Hosts must ensure their premises are maintained in a safe condition, that stable structures are sound and secure, that water supplies are clean and accessible, and that any known hazards on the property are disclosed in the Listing or communicated to the Rider before arrival.

4.6 Photography and media

Hosts warrant that all photographs and media uploaded to their Listing are accurate representations of the facilities as they currently exist, that they own or have full rights to use the images, and that consent has been obtained from any identifiable individuals. StableStop reserves the right to use Listing photographs in the promotion of the Platform with prior written consent.

4.7 StableStop's right to remove Listings

StableStop reserves the right to remove, suspend or edit any Listing at its discretion, including where a Listing contains inaccurate or misleading information, where the Host has received substantiated welfare complaints, or where continued publication of the Listing would be contrary to these Terms or applicable law. We will endeavour to notify Hosts of any such action and the reasons for it.

5. Riders — Making a Booking

5.1 Responsibility for your own due diligence

Before submitting a Booking Request, Riders are responsible for reading the Listing carefully, reviewing the Yard Rules, assessing whether the Stable is suitable for their horse(s), and making any enquiries directly with the Host through the Platform's messaging system. StableStop strongly encourages Riders to confirm with the Host any details that are material to their horse's welfare or competition requirements prior to booking.

5.2 Accurate information about your horse

When making a Booking, Riders must provide accurate information about each horse to be stabled, including breed, age, sex, size, temperament, any known health conditions, and current vaccination status. Providing false or incomplete information about your horse may result in cancellation of the Booking without refund and removal of your account.

5.3 Compliance with Yard Rules

By confirming a Booking, the Rider agrees to comply with the Host's Yard Rules in full. Breach of Yard Rules may result in the Host requiring the Rider and their horse to leave the premises before the end of the booked period. In such circumstances, the Rider will not be entitled to a refund of any fees paid.

5.4 Temporary access only — no tenancy

A Booking confers on the Rider only a temporary, personal, non-transferable licence to use the specified Stable for the booked period. No tenancy, leasehold interest, licence with security of tenure or any other proprietary or occupancy right is created. Riders must vacate the premises by the agreed departure time and must not attempt to assert any right to remain beyond the booked period without the Host's express written consent.

5.5 Responsibility for your horse and companions

Riders are solely responsible for the conduct and welfare of their horse(s) and for the behaviour of any person they bring onto the Host's premises in connection with the Booking, including grooms, family members and competition colleagues. Riders accept all risks associated with keeping and managing their own horse(s) at the Host's yard, subject to Section 12.

6. Bookings, Confirmation and Payment

6.1 Booking process

A Rider submits a Booking Request through the Platform. The Host may accept or decline the Request within 48 hours. A Booking is only confirmed, and a contract formed between Host and Rider, when StableStop issues a written Booking confirmation by email to both parties. Verbal or off-platform agreements do not constitute confirmed Bookings.

6.2 Payment structure

The total amount payable by the Rider consists of the Stabling Fee (the Host's listed price) plus the Booking Fee. Upon Booking confirmation, payment is collected as follows, depending on the payment terms selected by the Host:

  • Flexible: 30% deposit at booking confirmation; balance charged on the day of arrival.
  • Moderate: 30% deposit at booking confirmation; balance charged 1 week before the arrival date.
  • Firm: 100% of the total is paid at the time of booking confirmation (no separate balance collection).

All payments are processed securely via Stripe. By making a Booking, you authorise StableStop to charge your payment method for the amounts described above.

6.3 Booking Fee

StableStop charges a Booking Fee to the Rider on each Booking, equal to 8% of the Stabling Fee. The Booking Fee is displayed to the Rider as a separate line item before confirmation of any Booking. The Booking Fee is non-refundable except as set out in Section 7 or where StableStop is at fault. StableStop reserves the right to change the Booking Fee structure upon 30 days' notice to registered Users.

6.4 Host payouts

Hosts receive 100% of the Stabling Fee via Stripe Connect with no deductions. Funds will be released to the Host's connected account within 48 hours of the Rider's confirmed departure from the yard, subject to the absence of any pending damages claim under Section 12. Hosts are solely responsible for declaring their income and paying any applicable tax in connection with Bookings facilitated through the Platform.

6.5 Currency and pricing

All prices on the Platform are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. StableStop does not guarantee that prices will remain unchanged between the time of browsing and the time of payment. The price displayed at the point of Booking confirmation is the price that will be charged.

6.6 Off-platform payments prohibited

Hosts and Riders are prohibited from arranging or accepting payment for any Booking outside the StableStop Platform. Circumventing the Platform's payment system to avoid the Booking Fee is a material breach of these Terms and will result in suspension or permanent removal of the relevant accounts.

6.7 Billing disputes

If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, you must notify StableStop in writing at hello@stablestop.co.uk within 7 days of the charge appearing on your payment method. Disputes raised after this window may not be considered.

7. Cancellation and Refund Policy

7.1 Rider cancellation — per-listing policies

Each Listing specifies a cancellation policy chosen by the Host. The refund a Rider receives on cancellation depends on the policy and how far in advance the cancellation is made. Refunds are calculated on the total actually paid at the time of cancellation (deposit and any balance already collected).

Flexible policy

  • Cancellation before the day of check-in: 100% refund of the total actually paid, minus the Booking Fee.
  • Cancellation on the day of check-in: 50% refund of the total actually paid; the Booking Fee is non-refundable.
  • Failure to arrive without prior notice (“no-show”): no refund of any amounts paid.

Moderate policy

  • Cancellation 7 or more days before the first date of the Booking: 50% refund of the total actually paid; the Booking Fee is non-refundable.
  • Cancellation less than 7 days before the first date of the Booking: 25% refund of the total actually paid; the Booking Fee is non-refundable.
  • Failure to arrive without prior notice (“no-show”): no refund of any amounts paid.

Firm policy

  • The deposit portion of your payment is non-refundable once paid. For Firm bookings (100% upfront), this is the first 30% of the total.
  • The remaining balance portion (70% of the total) follows the Moderate cancellation rules: 50% refund of the balance if cancelled 7 or more days before check-in, 25% refund if less than 7 days.
  • The Booking Fee is non-refundable.
  • Failure to arrive without prior notice (“no-show”): no refund of any amounts paid.

7.2 Host cancellation

Hosts are expected to honour confirmed Bookings. If a Host cancels a confirmed Booking:

  • The Rider will receive a full refund of all amounts paid, including the Booking Fee.
  • Hosts who cancel may be subject to a cancellation fee deducted from future payouts, the amount of which reflects the inconvenience caused to the Rider and to the Platform.
  • Repeated cancellations by a Host will result in reduced search visibility and may result in suspension of the Host's account.

7.3 Cancellation due to equine disease outbreaks

Where a Government-issued disease movement restriction, equine disease alert, or mandatory biosecurity standstill prevents the movement of horses to or from the Host's premises, either party may cancel the Booking without penalty. In such circumstances, the Rider will receive a full refund of all amounts paid, including the Booking Fee. The Host will not be subject to any cancellation fee. StableStop's disease alert system provides current outbreak information but does not constitute official veterinary or regulatory advice.

7.4 Force majeure

Where a Booking cannot proceed due to circumstances genuinely outside the control of either party — including but not limited to severe weather, natural disaster, acts of God, civil unrest, or Government restriction — StableStop will review the matter on a case-by-case basis and may offer a credit, rescheduling, or full refund at its discretion. Such decisions are final.

7.5 Refund processing

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method within 10 working days. StableStop has no control over any additional processing time imposed by the Rider's bank or card issuer.

8. Host and Guest Obligations at the Yard

8.1 Condition of the Stable on arrival and departure

Hosts must ensure that the Stable is clean, safe and ready for occupation at the agreed arrival time. Riders must leave the Stable in the same condition in which it was found on arrival, including removing all soiled bedding, waste and manure generated during the stay unless otherwise agreed with the Host in writing through the Platform.

8.2 Feeding and care

Unless the Listing expressly states that livery care is included in the Stabling Fee, Riders are responsible for feeding, watering, mucking out, exercise and all other day-to-day care of their horse(s) during the Booking period. Hosts who offer full or partial care services must clearly describe these in their Listing and take reasonable professional care in delivering them.

8.3 Access arrangements

Riders must comply with all access arrangements communicated by the Host, including arrival and departure windows, gate codes and any special instructions. Riders requiring access outside the agreed hours must obtain the Host's prior consent. Hosts must not unreasonably restrict access to a Rider's horse during the booked period.

8.4 Respect for the Host's premises and other animals

Riders and their companions must treat the Host's property, equipment and other animals with respect. Any damage caused to the Host's facilities, fencing, bedding, feed stores or equipment by the Rider or their horse will be the Rider's financial responsibility under Section 12.

8.5 Communication through the Platform

Hosts and Riders are encouraged to use the Platform's messaging system to communicate about Bookings. This creates a record that may assist StableStop in resolving any disputes. You should not take any material decisions about a Booking by phone or in person without confirming them in writing through the Platform.

9. Animal Welfare and Equine-Specific Requirements

9.1 Rider's duty of care to their horse

Riders are solely responsible for the welfare of their horse(s) at all times during a Booking, including during travel to and from the Host's yard. Riders must ensure their horse is fit to travel, adequately nourished, watered and rested, and receiving any ongoing veterinary treatment required. Stabling a horse that is known to be infectious, unwell or in a condition likely to cause harm to other horses at the yard is a material breach of these Terms.

9.2 Equine Passport

All horses stabled through the Platform must hold a valid Equine Passport as required by UK law. Hosts may request sight of the Equine Passport on arrival. Riders must make the Equine Passport available to the Host or any attending veterinary surgeon upon reasonable request.

9.3 Vaccination requirements

Riders must ensure their horse(s) are vaccinated in accordance with any requirements specified in the Listing or Yard Rules. Where no specific requirements are stated, horses must be vaccinated against equine influenza and tetanus and vaccination records must be current. Hosts operating yards associated with British Horseracing Authority or FEI competitions may have additional vaccination requirements which it is the Rider's sole responsibility to verify and comply with.

9.4 Emergency veterinary care

In the event that a horse requires emergency veterinary treatment during a Booking, the Rider is responsible for making prompt contact with a suitably qualified veterinary surgeon. Hosts must not obstruct or delay emergency veterinary access to a horse. Where a Rider cannot be contacted in an emergency, the Host may take reasonable steps to summon veterinary assistance on behalf of the Rider; all costs arising from such assistance are the sole responsibility of the Rider.

9.5 Dangerous or unmanageable horses

If in the reasonable opinion of the Host a horse is dangerous, unmanageable or poses a genuine risk of harm to other horses, animals or people on the premises, the Host may require the Rider to remove the horse immediately. In such circumstances, no refund will be due to the Rider. The Host must notify StableStop through the Platform within 24 hours of exercising this right, setting out the reasons.

9.6 Welfare reporting

StableStop is committed to equine welfare. If any User becomes aware of circumstances at a Host's yard that give rise to a genuine welfare concern, they should report this to StableStop at welfare@stablestop.co.uk. StableStop may, at its discretion, suspend a Listing pending investigation and may refer serious welfare concerns to the relevant authorities or equine welfare organisations.

10. Biosecurity and Disease Protocols

10.1 General biosecurity obligations

Both Hosts and Riders share responsibility for maintaining biosecurity standards appropriate to a yard receiving visiting horses. Hosts must disclose in their Listing any known biosecurity protocols or requirements. Riders must comply with any such requirements and must not bring a horse onto the Host's premises if they have reason to believe the horse may be carrying an infectious or contagious equine disease.

10.2 Disease disclosure by Hosts

Hosts must immediately notify StableStop and any affected Riders if an equine infectious disease is confirmed or reasonably suspected at their yard. Any Bookings affected by such an outbreak must be cancelled in accordance with Section 7.3. Hosts who fail to disclose known disease outbreaks and thereby expose visiting horses to risk of infection may be held liable for resulting losses.

10.3 Disease disclosure by Riders

Riders must disclose to the Host, prior to arrival, any known or suspected disease, infection or ill-health affecting their horse or any horse that has been in close contact with their horse within the preceding 14 days. Riders must not proceed with a Booking if their horse has had clinical signs of infectious disease within this period.

10.4 StableStop disease alert information

The Platform provides access to publicly available equine disease outbreak alerts sourced from GOV.UK and relevant equine health authorities. This information is provided for general awareness only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice. StableStop does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of disease alert information and accepts no liability for decisions made in reliance on it.

10.5 Government movement restrictions

Where any Government authority imposes a formal movement restriction, controlled zone or standstill affecting the Host's premises or the Rider's location, all affected Bookings will be treated in accordance with Section 7.3 and the Rider will receive a full refund.

11. Insurance Obligations

11.1 Host insurance

Hosts are required, as a condition of listing on the Platform, to hold and maintain in force throughout the period of any active Listings: (a) public liability insurance of no less than £2,000,000 per claim covering third parties (including visiting horses and their owners) on their premises; and (b) such other insurance as may be required by law or as is standard practice for the operation of livery yard or stabling facilities. Hosts must be able to provide evidence of current insurance upon request by StableStop.

11.2 Rider insurance

Riders are strongly advised to hold personal liability insurance and horse owner liability insurance covering third-party property damage and personal injury caused by their horse(s). Many equestrian organisations (including the British Horse Society) include personal liability cover in their membership packages. Riders are solely responsible for ensuring that any insurance they hold is adequate and current. StableStop does not provide insurance cover for Riders or their horses.

11.3 StableStop does not provide insurance

StableStop does not provide, arrange or underwrite any insurance in connection with Bookings. The Platform's facilitation of a Booking creates no insurance obligations on StableStop's part. Any insurance-related disputes are strictly between the User and their insurer.

11.4 Consequences of inadequate insurance

If a Host is found not to hold the insurance required under Section 11.1, StableStop may immediately suspend their Listings. If a Rider's horse causes damage to the Host's premises and the Rider has no adequate insurance in place, the Rider remains personally liable for the full cost of that damage.

12. Damage, Injury and Liability

12.1 Rider's responsibility for damage

Riders are responsible for leaving the Host's Stable and wider premises in the condition in which they were found on arrival, fair wear and tear excepted. Riders are liable for any damage caused to the Host's property, equipment or other animals by the Rider, their horse(s) or any person accompanying the Rider in connection with the Booking.

12.2 Damages claims process

Where a Host alleges that damage has been caused by a Rider during a Booking, the Host must notify StableStop through the Platform within 48 hours of the Rider's departure, providing photographic evidence and a written description of the damage. StableStop will notify the Rider of the claim and provide 48 hours for the Rider to respond. StableStop may, at its discretion, assist in resolving the matter but is not obliged to adjudicate between Host and Rider and bears no financial responsibility for damage claims.

12.3 Injury to horses

Where a Rider's horse sustains injury or death while stabled at a Host's premises, the allocation of liability will depend on the particular circumstances. Hosts are not insurers of visiting horses and are not liable for injury or death arising from the horse's own behaviour, pre-existing conditions, or circumstances beyond the Host's reasonable control. Hosts may be liable where injury or death is caused by the Host's negligence, including failure to maintain safe premises or structures.

12.4 Host's liability to Riders

A Host owes Riders and their accompanying persons a duty of care under the Occupiers' Liability Act 1957 as lawful visitors. Hosts must take reasonable steps to ensure their premises are safe for the purposes for which Riders are permitted to use them. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12.5 High value horses

Riders accept that the Platform does not provide any valuation, warranty or assurance in respect of their horse's value. Riders with high-value horses are strongly advised to ensure their insurance coverage reflects the full value of their horse before making any Booking.

13. Reviews and User Content

13.1 Reviews

Following completion of a Booking, both Hosts and Riders may submit a review through the Platform. Reviews must be honest, based on genuine first-hand experience of the Booking, and must not be submitted under duress, for financial reward, or with a view to damaging the other party unfairly. StableStop reserves the right to remove reviews that it reasonably believes violate these requirements.

13.2 Review integrity

Submitting false, fabricated or retaliatory reviews is a breach of these Terms. StableStop may investigate suspected review manipulation and may suspend or permanently remove the accounts of any Users found to have engaged in it.

13.3 Responsibility for Content

Users are solely responsible for the Content they submit to the Platform, including Listing descriptions, photographs, messages and reviews. By submitting Content you warrant that: you own or have all necessary rights to the Content; the Content is accurate and not misleading; the Content does not infringe the rights of any third party; and the Content complies with all applicable law.

13.4 Licence to use Content

By submitting Content to the Platform you grant StableStop a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, display and distribute that Content for the purposes of operating and promoting the Platform. This licence continues for as long as the Content remains on the Platform. You may request removal of your Content by contacting us, subject to any legal retention obligations.

13.5 Content moderation

StableStop has no obligation to pre-screen Content but reserves the right to remove or restrict access to any Content that breaches these Terms, is unlawful, defamatory, offensive or harmful, or that we are required to remove by a competent authority. Where we remove Content, we will notify the relevant User and provide reasons, except where doing so would impede fraud detection or harm third parties.

14. Prohibited Conduct

Users must not engage in any of the following conduct on or in connection with the Platform:

  • Submitting false, inaccurate or misleading information in any Listing, Booking Request or review.
  • Using the Platform for any purpose that is unlawful, fraudulent or contrary to these Terms.
  • Harassing, threatening or abusing any other User of the Platform.
  • Attempting to circumvent the Platform's payment systems by arranging off-platform transactions.
  • Scraping, crawling or using automated tools to extract data from the Platform without express written consent from StableStop.
  • Interfering with the technical operation of the Platform, including introducing malicious code, viruses or denial-of-service attacks.
  • Impersonating any other person or entity, including StableStop staff.
  • Using the Platform to advertise, promote or solicit competing platforms or services without our consent.
  • Listing a Stable to which you do not have legal authority to grant access, or making a Booking for stabling that you do not intend to use.
  • Knowingly stabling a horse carrying a contagious disease without disclosure to the Host.

Breach of any of the above may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal of your account and may give rise to legal action by StableStop or affected third parties.

15. Intellectual Property

15.1 StableStop's intellectual property

All intellectual property in the Platform, including the StableStop name, logo, trademarks, software, website design, written content and proprietary algorithms, belongs to StableStop or its licensors. You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, modify or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our prior written consent.

15.2 Limited licence to use the Platform

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, StableStop grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose. This licence does not permit you to use the Platform to build a competing product or service.

15.3 Feedback

If you submit ideas, suggestions or feedback to StableStop, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction and without any obligation to you. You retain no intellectual property rights in feedback provided to us.

16. Privacy and Data Protection

16.1 Privacy Policy

The collection and use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at www.stablestop.co.uk/privacy. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

16.2 UK GDPR compliance

StableStop is the Data Controller for personal data processed in connection with the Platform. We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@stablestop.co.uk.

16.3 Data shared between Users

When a Booking is confirmed, StableStop will share limited contact information between the Host and Rider as necessary to facilitate the Booking. You must use any personal data received about another User solely in connection with the relevant Booking and must not store, use or disclose it for any other purpose.

16.4 Stripe and payment data

Payment information is processed directly and securely by Stripe. StableStop does not store your full card details on our systems. Stripe's privacy practices are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

17. Platform Availability and Changes

17.1 Availability

StableStop aims to make the Platform available at all times but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free access. Planned maintenance, system upgrades or circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect Platform availability. We will endeavour to provide advance notice of planned downtime where it may affect active Bookings.

17.2 Changes to these Terms

StableStop may update these Terms from time to time. Where we make material changes, we will notify registered Users by email and by a prominent notice on the Platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Non-material changes (such as corrections, clarifications and updates to reflect changes in law) may take effect immediately. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the Platform and may close your account.

18. Suspension and Termination

18.1 Suspension by StableStop

StableStop reserves the right to suspend or restrict access to any User's account, at any time and without prior notice, where we have reasonable grounds to suspect: a material breach of these Terms; fraudulent activity; a risk to the welfare of horses or persons; or a risk of harm to other Users or to the Platform. Where appropriate, and where doing so would not impede investigation, we will notify the affected User and provide an opportunity to respond.

18.2 Termination by StableStop

We may terminate a User's account permanently where the User has materially or repeatedly breached these Terms or where continued operation of the account would be contrary to applicable law or to the welfare of others. Termination does not affect any Bookings confirmed prior to the termination date and any amounts due to a Host at the time of termination will be processed in accordance with Section 6.4.

18.3 Termination by User

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@stablestop.co.uk. Closing your account does not affect any obligations or Bookings in existence at the time of closure. Any active Bookings must be honoured or cancelled in accordance with Section 7 before your account can be fully closed.

18.4 Effect of termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. StableStop will retain and delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Sections 12, 13, 14, 15, 19 and 20 of these Terms survive termination.

19. Limitation of Liability

19.1 Platform provided “as is”

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StableStop excludes all warranties, representations and conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, in connection with the Platform or any Booking. We do not warrant that the Platform will be error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Platform is free of viruses or other harmful components.

19.2 Exclusion of certain types of loss

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StableStop will not be liable for any: loss of profits; loss of revenue; loss of data or use of data; loss of anticipated savings; loss of goodwill or reputation; indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Platform or any Booking, whether based on contract, tort (including negligence), statute or any other legal theory.

19.3 Cap on liability

Subject to Section 19.4, StableStop's total aggregate liability to any User in connection with the Platform or any Booking will not exceed the greater of: (a) the Booking Fee retained by StableStop in respect of the Booking giving rise to the claim; or (b) £100.

19.4 Liability that cannot be excluded

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes StableStop's liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by StableStop's negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation by StableStop; or (c) any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under English law, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that apply to consumers.

19.5 Third-party conduct

StableStop is not liable for the conduct, acts or omissions of any Host, Rider or third party. Any claim arising from the conduct of another User must be brought against that User directly.

20. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless StableStop, its directors, employees, agents and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your Content; (c) your breach of these Terms; (d) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; (e) your conduct in connection with any Booking; (f) the condition, management or behaviour of your horse(s); or (g) any claim brought by a third party arising from your actions or omissions in connection with a Booking.

21. Dispute Resolution

21.1 Between Host and Rider

Disputes arising between a Host and a Rider in connection with a Booking should in the first instance be raised through the Platform's messaging system. Where Users cannot resolve a dispute themselves, either party may contact StableStop at disputes@stablestop.co.uk. StableStop may offer its good offices to assist in resolving the dispute but is under no obligation to do so and any assistance provided is not binding. StableStop's involvement in any dispute does not make it a party to the underlying agreement between Host and Rider.

21.2 Disputes with StableStop

If you have a complaint about StableStop or the Platform, please contact us in the first instance at hello@stablestop.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 20 working days. If you are a consumer and remain dissatisfied after our internal complaints process, you may be entitled to refer your complaint to an Alternative Dispute Resolution provider. Details of available ADR schemes will be provided in our response to your complaint.

21.3 Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Subject to Section 21.2, each party irrevocably submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any right you may have as a consumer to bring proceedings in your local courts.

21.4 Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999

A person who is not a party to these Terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of these Terms. This does not affect any right or remedy of a third party that exists or is available apart from that Act.

22. General Provisions

22.1 Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any supplemental terms applicable to specific features of the Platform, constitute the entire agreement between you and StableStop with respect to your use of the Platform and supersede all prior agreements, representations and understandings.

22.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

22.3 Waiver

Failure by StableStop to enforce any right or provision of these Terms on any occasion will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision on any future occasion.

22.4 Assignment

You may not assign, transfer or sub-license your rights or obligations under these Terms without StableStop's prior written consent. StableStop may assign these Terms or any rights under them to any person in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of all or substantially all of its assets, upon notice to you.

22.5 Force majeure

StableStop will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms to the extent that such failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, fire, flood, extreme weather, epidemic or pandemic, equine disease outbreak, acts of government or regulatory authority, war, civil unrest, or failure of third-party infrastructure.

22.6 Electronic communications

By using the Platform, you consent to receive communications from StableStop in electronic form. Electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement for communications to be made in writing. You are responsible for ensuring that the email address registered to your account is current and that our communications are not filtered as spam.
