Guides and information for StableStop hosts
Getting Started as a Host on StableStop
Welcome! This guide walks you through everything you need to do to start earning from your spare stabling capacity.
Create Your Account
- Visit stablestop.co.uk and click “Sign Up”
- Enter your name, email address, and create a password
- Check your email for a verification link and click it to confirm
- Sign in to your new account
Enable Your Host Role
- Once logged in, go to your Dashboard
- Click “Become a Host” or navigate to Settings → Roles
- Toggle “I want to host” to enabled
- This unlocks your host dashboard, listing creation, and payout setup
Verify Your Identity
- Go to Settings → Identity Verification
- Click “Start Verification”
- You will be redirected to Stripe Identity — our secure verification partner
- Have ready: a valid UK photo ID (passport or driving licence) and your phone for a selfie
- Follow the on-screen instructions — verification usually takes just a few minutes
- Once verified, a Verified badge appears on your profile
Why is this required?
Identity verification protects both hosts and riders. You must be verified before creating a listing.
Connect Your Stripe Account
- From your host dashboard, click “Connect Stripe Account” to set up your bank account
- You will be redirected to Stripe to complete the setup
- Stripe will ask for your bank details (sort code and account number) and personal or business information for tax purposes
- Once complete, you are redirected back to StableStop
- Your payout status shows as “Active” on the dashboard
How payouts work
When a booking completes, your payout is sent directly to your bank. You receive 100% of your listed price. The 8% Booking Fee is charged separately to the rider — it never comes out of your earnings.
Create Your First Listing
From your host dashboard, click “Create Listing”. You will see a single-page form with 9 sections:
You can Save as Draft at any point and come back later — no pressure to finish in one sitting. When everything is ready, click Publish to go live.
Set Your Availability
- After publishing, open your listing and click “Availability”
- By default, all dates are available
- Block out any dates when your stabling is not available
- Keep your calendar up to date — riders can only book dates you have marked as available
Respond to Bookings
- When a rider requests a booking, you will receive an email notification
- Review the request on your host dashboard — you can see the rider’s profile, verified ID, horse details, and any notes
- Accept or decline the request
- Once accepted, the rider’s payment is processed and you are all set
